The building dates back to 1440, which makes it one of the oldest buildings in Amsterdam. In the 19th century, the St. Olofs Chapel fell into disrepair and lost its religious character. A raging fire in 1966 seemed to signal the end, but NH Barbizon Palace showed interest. The hotel was looking for more conference space, and from this came the plan arose to restore St. Olofs Chapel to its original state, but with all the added conveniences and comfort of the 20th century. The Conference Centre is an integral part of the NH Barbizon Palace Hotel. An underground passage connects the two locations. For instance, during a conference, you can hold product presentations in the foyer and have an informal meeting on the balcony. Personal service receives high priority at the NH Barbizon Palace. You have one contact person during preparation and during the event. For smaller meetings, there are also 11 meeting rooms, including the exclusive Boardroom and Henry Hudson Rooms, which offer modern, comfortable accommodations for groups of between 10 and 200 people.
