Barcelona Airport Ground Transportation

Introduction

Barcelona Airport is served directly by train, bus and taxi.

Train

Moving walkways link the terminal building with the railway station. RENFE is the company that organises train services to and from Barcelona International Airport (BCN).

Between the airport and the city of Barcelona a metro rail service operates from early in the morning till late at night. Trains usually leave the airport at half-hourly intervals, though this varies according to the time of the day.

A typical journey time from the airport to Barcelona Sants, the city's principal railway station (which offers connections to many parts of the city and beyond), would be 17 minutes; and to the Plaza de Catalunya, a square near the centre of the city, 23 minutes. The airport line and its connections offer many destinations to the traveller.

Buses

Three autobus routes connect the airport with various points in the urban area of Barcelona .

Aerobus A1 runs between the airport and the Plaza de Catalunya, a square near the centre of the city. At the airport there are bus stops in front of Terminals A, B and C. Services operate from early in the

morning till late at night, but not for 24 hours a day. During their hours of operation they are scheduled to depart from the airport every 12 minutes or so.

Line 106 is a nightbus route running between the airport and Plaza de Espana, an important square on the edge of the city centre, with stops along the way. At the airport there are bus stops outside Terminals B and C. 106 services operate, more or less, at those hours when the Aerobus A1 service is not running. They go from very late at night into the earliest hours of the morning, with intervals of more than an hour between each bus.

Line 105 runs between the airport and the nearby township of El Prat . At the airport there are bus stops outside Terminals B and C. Services operate from early in the morning until late in the evening.

Taxi

Taxis wait at ranks outside Terminals A, B and C. Tariffs vary according to journey. An airport exit supplement is included in every fare; an extra supplement may be charged per item of luggage.
