Ronald Reagan Washington National Ground Transportation

Introduction

Ronald Reagan National Airport is served by various means of transport, including a local rail service known as Metrorail, taxis, and shuttle buses.

Internal Transit

It is possible to move between many of the airport's facilities on foot.

As an additional service, complimentary shuttle buses connect the terminals, parking facilities and Metrorail station. These shuttles are particularly convenient for passengers moving between the Metrorail station and Terminal A, and for movements between the Economy parking lot and any other location in the airport.

Metrorail

Washington D.C. is served by a rapid transit train system known as Metrorail. Since one of the network's stations is conveniently located at Ronald Reagan National Airport many passengers use this means of transport.

The Metrorail station is located directly outside and in front of Terminals B and C (in between the terminals and the parking garages). A complimentary shuttle bus runs between Terminal A and the station.

Network trains go to and from many stations in the city and its suburbs. At the centrally located Union Station travellers may find Amtrak trains that connect Washington with many cities and towns on the USA's eastern seaboard, including Philadelphia.

Shuttle Buses

Shuttles are available: they operate as shared ride vans and their availability varies according to passenger demand. One company that operates such stops is SuperShuttle, which should have representatives on the curb outside the terminals.

Taxicabs

Supervisors look after taxi ranks that stand outside each terminal. Taxis serve locations in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Public Bus Services

Public bus services operate between the airport and many of the locations in the area that are not served by Metrorail. These buses stop outside the Metrorail station.
